Pat and I spent this past week at the ranch/farm with the Give Ye Them To Eat team, helping facilitate a week of training with a truly picturesque backdrop. Árbol Vida (Tree of Life) is always the perfect setting for an outdoor classroom—you simply can’t beat the beauty of God’s creation, fresh air, and the sense of peace that fills this sacred place. Alongside the training, we also carved out time to continue preparing the ranch house that we will begin calling home, part-time, starting in September. We both were indoctrinated with hornet stings (and learned several homeopathic remedies that work!) and visits from scorpions and tarantulas.   We also have been learning how to do our laundry-ranch style. Another Whirlwind Week!

This week has been another whirlwind — we’ve done all the things, met a lot of people, consumed amazing food, and explored more cultural corners. It’s been such a blast! Speaking of FUN (or lack of patience for me), it only took us four hours at the government office to get our tax ID number — another step required before opening the bank account - and, of course, a blank USB drive! Patience may not be my forte, but God is making sure it’s in the curriculum!  If you really want to know about the experience, try captioning this pic! I thought it was a good sign when, on our third attempt to open a bank account (which we need in order to buy a car), we were greeted by a random parade right outside the bank.
